A Fabulous Wax

  • DO refer to the Waxing Hints Page for tips on easing discomfort during your treatment

  • DO take 2-4 ibuprofen to dull pain receptors, as long as it’s not contraindicated by your doctor.

  • DO tell us of any waxing problems you've had in the past

  • DO wear sun block if you find yourself exposed to the suns rays after a waxing treatment to avoid hyperpigmentation

  • DO allow 1/2 inch to 1 inch of hair growth for your 1st visit which is usually  2–3 weeks, for a nice clean wax. Shorter hair will break, causing two reactions: broken stubby hairs and discomfort during your service. Two things we want to avoid! After your 1st treatment you're a pro, and 1/4 inch is fine!

  • DO make us aware of any products or medications you are using which are contraindicated to waxing including*
Antibiotics, Accutane, Retin-A, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Salicylic Acid, Tazorac, Avage, Differin, Strivectin, Renova, Avita, Benzoyal Peroxide, Apricot Scrubs, Neutrogena Scrub, ProActive
  • DO avoid waxing a week prior to your cycle. You're much more sensitive during this time. Scheduling your appointments the first 2 weeks AFTER that time of the month is best.

  • DO relax, we'll take care of you, it's what we do!

  • DON'T wax after laser surgery, microdermabrasion, or a chemical peel

  • DON'T wax during or the 6 months following an Accutane treatment

  • DON'T workout after waxing

  • DON'T drink any caffeine or alcohol before your treatment

  • DON'T touch newly waxed area if hands are unclean

  • DON'T expose newly exposed areas to the sun, hot tubs, saunas, tanning booths, hot showers or extreme heat for 48 hours

  • DON'T apply deodorant to newly waxed underarms

  • DON'T use strong perfumes, or cosmetics for 24 hours

  • DON'T stress. It'll be over before you know it, and you'll wish you had started waxing years ago!

*These are some of the products that we are aware of that may cause a problem, and new ones come along every day!
